Travelers Booking Their Own Trips Now Get ‘Fair Fare Prices,’ Save Money at TopTravelSites.com

Ferndale, WA (PRWEB) August 1, 2007

Unique travel site TopTravelSites.com (http://www.TopTravelSites.com) is now offering savings on every featured selection – as long as the customer does his or her own bookings. The site has recently launched a “Fair Fare Prices” program, enabling customers to save money and get a “fair” price by receiving “TopTravelVouchers.”

“Fair Fare Prices means that if travelers handle their own arrangements with travel operators without the use of an agent, it is only fair that they do not have to pay the commission element built into the travel pricing,” says TopTravelSites.com founder Tony Humphrey. “So as not to dismiss the agent and agency system, the site promotes travel agents with true knowledge, experience and expertise and encourages travelers who want such skills to only deal with experts, wherever they may be situated, via the Internet.”

How it Works

Based on the premise that most travel prices are set to allow the payment of a commission to a seller of travel from 10 to 25 percent or more, this site gives most of that back to travelers who handle their own arrangements directly with the travel provider. In effect, direct-booking travelers save most of the commission that would have been paid out by the travel operator. These savings are achieved using a “TopTravelVoucher.”

Any travel operator may join the program by simply supplying their own travel vouchers, which is done online. The site suggests that the values be attractive to travelers but no less than the commission that would have been paid out. The program encourages and rewards travelers who are comfortable with direct bookings by Internet, telephone, fax or at the place of business of the travel provider. The vouchers are offered for sale at price levels of $ 30, $ 50 or $ 100 USD (or equivalent in the country of purchase). One voucher, valued at 1,500 euros sells for $ 100 USD.

This program is open to all travel businesses, from small B&B’s and Day-Tours to Luxury Lodges and Extended Tour Operators. “There are many travel operators around the world who deserve better representation,” Humphrey says. “And now TopTravelVouchers and gift certificates will be able to achieve this for them.”

Travel providers may offer as many vouchers as they wish for any travel products or services available on their Web sites, and travelers are invited to buy vouchers when they have checked for quality and availability of the travel product. All vouchers come with a 100 percent money-back guarantee, and if the traveler is unhappy with the product even after the travel has been completed, they are able to get reimbursement of the cost of the vouchers.

“There are thousands of travel Web sites available, including only a few prominent Web travel giants,” says Humphrey. “I think it is refreshing to find an original concept that offers real incentives and savings for travelers while giving valuable exposure and new sales opportunities to travel operators and expert travel agents, both large and small, around the world.”

Humphrey adds that with no charge for joining, no risk to travel providers and excellent savings for travelers, the site’s Fair Fare Prices program may be seen as a way to offset some of the increasing costs of travel from pump prices to fuel surcharges.

About TopTravelSites.com and TopTravelVouchers

TopTravelSites.com is a simple-to-use, uncluttered directory of travel operators and specialist travel agents from around the world. Users can browse to the destination they’re looking for and click on the image or title of the travel listing to go directly to a travel site for more information and to book travel.

TopTravelSites.com questions the way we choose experts and professionals for travel advice compared to how we choose those for accounting, legal, medical, mechanical or technical advice. It suggests that in a normal lifetime we spend more on travel than on all of the other services combined, but that we rarely confirm that our travel advisors are experts. “Travelers should be concerned about whether their travel specialist is an expert (as in, ‘been there, done that, got the t-shirt’) or if they have just taken a simple test run by a tourism office or tour operator,” says the site’s founder, Tony Humphrey.

The TopTravelVouchers program was developed by Humphrey, a Chartered Accountant (UK) with over 40 years of international travel, editor of TheTravelInsider.net and operator of the TopTravelSites group of Web sites.

The site, although in its infancy, offers some creative and unique options not found on other sites and some interesting travel deals for self-bookers. To learn more and see the current selection of travel savings, visit http://www.toptravelsites.com
