North Star Destination Strategies’ CEO to Speak at the 2011 Mississippi Governor’s Conference on Tourism

Don McEachern, North Star Destination Strategies’ CEO, will speak at the upcoming 2011 Mississippi Governor’s Conference on Tourism on the topic of Destination Branding. The Governor’s Conference will be held at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, September 25 – 27. The session Integrated Brand Communications: Shifting Gears from Impression to Expression Marketing is September 26 at 3:00 pm with a repeat session September 27 at 9:00 am.
North Star Destination Strategies is an industry leader in the field of tourism research and destination branding. The destination marketing specialists have worked with over 130 communities across the United States including The State of Mississippi, Lansing, Michigan and Golden Isles, Georgia.
North Star Destination Strategies partnered with the Mississippi Development Authority in 2009 to develop its new tourism brand. In addition, North Star’s tourism research department worked with the MDA to monitor ongoing perceptions around the Deepwater Horizon Gulf Oil Spill. “We are excited to share the findings of both the destination brand and visitor perception studies at the upcoming Governor’s conference.” Don McEachern, CEO, North Star Destination Strategies. The Governor’s Conference on Tourism is managed by the Mississippi Tourism Association. For more than 20 years Mississippi Tourism Association has represented Mississippi’s tourism industry. A Board of Directors, representing all parts of the State and all segments within the hospitality industry, guides the 444-member organization. Over the past few years, MTA has strengthened both its membership base and program offerings. The Association is now known statewide as a true “voice” for the industry and works extremely hard during each legislative session to make sure the hospitality business receives proper attention on all legislative matters.
