Free DNA Test for Needy Families on Father’s Day

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) June 9, 2006

DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC) is continuing its tradition of providing free paternity testing to selected families for Father’s Day. Ten DNA tests will be performed for families that have doubts about fatherhood but cannot currently afford to pay for the testing. In addition to providing peace of mind, the results can be used for legal reasons such as child support.

The Father’s Day offer is part of DDC’s mission to make paternity testing affordable and accessible to all. “DDC continues to make testing as accessible as possible, but many people struggle to find the means to afford a quality DNA test,” says Jerry Watkins, Family Relationship Manager at DDC. “We have several programs in place that fulfill our mission, and the Father’s Day offer is one that has special meaning for us.”

In 1998, DDC began providing free paternity testing for Father’s Day. “Those who have questions about paternity are especially aware of such doubts on that day. We would like to help answer some of those questions and give them a chance to have some peace about their situation by giving them results for Father’s Day.”

In celebration of its 10th anniversary last year, DDC focused on providing free paternity testing to families within the Cincinnati Tri-State area, where its world headquarters are located. “We especially enjoy giving to our local community,” says Watkins. The offer was a success, and many local families were grateful for the opportunity to resolve their doubts. Several fathers expressed their thanks for DDC’s help, and others said that Father’s Day has taken on a whole new meaning with the answers they found.

This year, DDC is continuing that tradition. Interested families should call the hotline (513-881-4055) on or before June 13 to schedule a time to talk to a paternity counselor. Those eligible to receive the free testing must have their DNA samples collected during their visit to DDC’s laboratory headquarters, located on One DDC Way, Fairfield, OH.
