Coralville, IA Hotel Celebrates 5 Years of Service with Anniversary Party
Coralville, IA (PRWEB) August 18, 2011
Five years ago, the town of Coralville, IA came together and constructed one of the finest hotels near the University of Iowa. The Coralville Marriott Hotel & Conference Center was born from a collaboration between the city of Coralville and Marriott International. Now, to thank the citizens of Coralville, this Marriott Hotel near Iowa City is hosting a very special anniversary party. On August 24, 2011, the hotel welcomes members of the Marriott family and citizens of Coralville for a night of hors d’oeuvres, open bar and live music from famous Jazz group, the Cassius Goens Trio.
This event is open to the public. Those interested in attending must RSVP to Lori(dot)Oakland(at)marriott(dot)com.
“We are very excited to be celebrating our 5 year anniversary,” General Manager Jeff Peller said. “We’re overjoyed to have the opportunity to share this milestone with our customers and with the local community, which has supported us since we opened the doors in 2006.”
The city of Coralville initially invested $ 35 million dollars into the Marriott Hotel. The goal was to create one of the best University of Iowa hotels in the Iowa River Landing District. The city hoped the hotel’s presence would revitalize the area, which the hotel quickly accomplished. In its first twelve months of operation alone, the Coralville Marriot Hotel brought in $ 3.2 million dollars in new visitor spending.
Other than a financial investment, the city has always had close ties to this Coralville, IA hotel. The first official guest at the hotel was Coralville Mayor Jim Fausett. The hotel’s anniversary party is Marriott’s way of saying thanks to the citizens, employees and friends that have made this Coralville hotel so successful over the years.
